National Building Museum

On Sunday Colleen was taking an all-day spin class instructor certification class.  So Jim took Avery to some fun activities downtown.

They hopped on the Metro and first went to the National Building Museum.  Avery enjoyed the lion statues out front of it

Once inside the museum we enjoyed looking at the beautiful interior atrium

Then our friends Raul and Ally arrived.  They helped up build a big arch

And after it crashed down Avery enjoyed stacking blocks and playing around.  The museum is a great place to bring a kid.

(We toured an interesting traveling exhibit that was a documentary of the urban decay of Detroit.  There were no photos allowed in the exhibits so we don't have any additional pictures.)  There is a mini-golf course inside too, but we didn't get to that part.

Then we walked 3 blocks over to Chinatown to watch the Chinese New Year's parade.  Avery liked the dragons and lions.

It was a nice day for early February and we enjoyed spending time with Raul and Ally!
